Quorum sensing, an overview...

QUORUM SENSING is a joint research and innovation initiative with the objective of discovering the “quorum sensing” of fungal cells used industrially through an approach at the molecular level .

Participants: Wetlands Engineering SPRL , University of Westminster , Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague (Department of Chemical Engineering), University of Naples (Department of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry), CNRS/CBRL UMR 6517 (Laboratoire de Bioinorganique Structurale), University of Pécs , University of Turku (Centre for Biotechnology), Université catholique de Louvain

Implementation period: 2006-2009.

Centred on a biotechnological approach, the heart of the project covers 3 objectives in parallel:

It is expected that this project will lead to concrete developments in the traditional
colour industry towards high technology SMEs that are more competitive,
more innovative and more sustainable.
